Wooden cylindrical activated carbon is a precision-engineered product manufactured through a series of production processes from wood materials. It features a highly developed pore structure, excellent adsorption capacity, high mechanical strength, and a long service life. This material effectively adsorbs various VOCs (volatile organic compounds) including benzene, toluene, ketones, alcohols, tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane, trichloromethane, trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene, carbon disulfide, formyl, gasoline, and fluorinated hydrocarbons.

Application scenarios: Coal-based cylindrical activated carbon is widely used in exhaust gas purification, chemical feedstock gas, chemical synthesis gas, pharmaceutical industrial gas, beverage carbon dioxide gas, hydrogen, nitrogen, hydrogen chloride, and ethane gas purification, as well as gas purification and separation, and tail gas from nuclear facilities. Additionally, impregnated coal-based cylindrical activated carbon, such as KOH-impregnated activated carbon, NaOH-impregnated activated carbon, sulfur-impregnated activated carbon, desulfurization and denitrification activated carbon, and acid-washed activated carbon, is used to remove specific harmful gases.

Coal-based cylindrical activated carbon production process:

The production process of coal-based cylindrical activated carbon begins with grinding raw coal to a specific fineness (typically over 95% passing 0.08mm). A suitable binder (commonly coal tar) and water are then added, and the mixture is kneaded and extruded into carbon strips at a controlled temperature. After drying, the carbon strips undergo carbonization and activation to produce the final product. Depending on market requirements, the finished product may undergo acid washing, impregnation, or modification to meet clients' adsorption needs.

Coal-based cylindrical activated carbon features a highly developed pore structure, large specific surface area, strong adsorption capacity, high mechanical strength, low bed resistance, excellent chemical stability, easy regeneration, and long service life. With its well-balanced pore size distribution, it achieves optimal adsorption and desorption, significantly extending the product's lifespan (averaging 2-3 years) 1.4 times longer than conventional coal-based carbon.

Production process of wood-based cylindrical activated carbon:

 

The production process of wood-based cylindrical activated carbon begins with grinding the wood material to a fine powder (typically 95% or more passing through a 0.08mm sieve), followed by mixing it with an appropriate binder (commonly coal tar) and water. The mixture is then kneaded and extruded into carbon strips at a controlled temperature. After drying, the carbon strips undergo carbonization and activation to produce the final product. Depending on market requirements, the finished wood-based cylindrical activated carbon may undergo additional treatments such as acid washing, impregnation, or modification to meet specific adsorption demands.

 

Characteristics of Wood Column Activated Carbon:

 

Compared with traditional coal-based cylindrical activated carbon, it exhibits lower ash content, fewer impurities, and a higher CTC (Carbon Transfer Carbon) adsorption rate. Conventional 4mm activated carbon achieves only 60% to 70% CTC adsorption, whereas our manufacturer's 4mm wood-based cylindrical activated carbon demonstrates a 100% CTC adsorption rate. This breakthrough addresses the domestic shortage in CTC adsorption efficiency and fully replaces imported products.
